يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل توزيع المدن الكبرى في العراق وتأثيرها على التنمية الاقتصادية في البلاد. يتناول الدراسة نماذج توزيع المدن وأسباب تركز السكان والنشاط الاقتصادي في مناطق معينة، مع استعراض العوامل الجغرافية، التاريخية، والاجتماعية التي تؤثر على توزيع المدن. كما يسلط الضوء على الدور الذي تلعبه المدن الكبرى في تعزيز النمو الاقتصادي، وتوفير فرص العمل، وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة، مع مناقشة التحديات التي تواجهها من حيث التوزيع غير المتوازن، والازدحام، ونقص البنى التحتية. يعتمد البحث على البيانات الإحصائية، الخرائط التوزيعية، والدراسات الميدانية، بهدف تقديم تصور شامل حول كيفية تحسين توزيع المدن لتحقيق تنمية اقتصادية متوازنة ومستدامة في العراق.

Abstract
This research aims to analyze the distribution of major cities in Iraq and their impact on the country's economic development. The study examines models of city distribution and the reasons behind the concentration of populations and economic activities in specific areas, reviewing geographic, historical, and social factors influencing urban distribution. It also highlights the role that major cities play in promoting economic growth, providing employment opportunities, and achieving sustainable development, while discussing the challenges they face, such as uneven distribution, congestion, and infrastructure shortages. The research relies on statistical data, distribution maps, and field studies to provide a comprehensive overview of how to improve city distribution to achieve balanced and sustainable economic development in Iraq.
